After several successful years of CinéDOC on Tour screenings, in 2019 it became possible to turn the screenings into mini festivals.
The first mini festival was held in the city of Gori, in which local organizations were actively engaged as well as Gori municipality itself, which was one of the main partners of the festival. The festival opened at Gori G.Eristavi State Drama Theatre and was attended by more than 300 guests and audience.
The following mini-festival took a place in Racha on August 20-23, 2019. Besides, Oni and Ambrolauri screenings were held in high mountainous villages of Racha in the course of three days.
The third minifestival in 2019 was hosted by Marneuli municipality, in which Marneuli city hall and local inhabitants were actively involved.
With the help of mini-festivals, regional coordinators have a possibility to create a cultural platform in their own regions, which will encourage awareness raising in terms of human rights, increasing and developing civic consciousness and creative approach when it comes to initiating and organizing cultural events and film screenings.
